Explanatory note

Southam was gefascineerd door het vlakke Nederlandse landschap. Hij reisde door Nederland met zijn technische camera op zoek naar het tracé van de HSL in de weidsheid van het landschap. Het tracé plaatste hij steeds op de horizon van zijn beelden. Dit leverde klassieke, tijdloze Hollandse landschapsfoto's op.
