Wooden frame model of a longboat mounted on a stand.
Carvel-built, double-banked launch with a round bottom, a flat sheer and a square stern. The model has a small foredeck, five thwarts with stretchers and an open cockpit with side benches. The stem is coppered and has a sheave. The frames consist of three parts. At the stern a basic rudder with a hand tiller fitting over the rudder head is indicated. The spars consist of a mainmast with a yard for a dipping lugsail and a mizzen mast with a sprit and a jigger bumpkin. The launch is armed with a carronade mounted on a long slide, going from stem to stern, and is complete with its loading equipment. The model has a windlass amidships. Additional accessories include a fish davit, a hand pump, a boat hook and twelve oars.
The model represents a longboat built according to the regulations of the Dutch Navy of 1819.1
