Explanatory note

Reeks van 3 prenten met voorstellingen van een carroussel ter ere van het huwelijk van Cosimo III en Marguerite Louise d'Orléans op 1 juli 1661. Prent gebruikt als illustratie in 'Il Mondo festeggiante: balletto a cavallo fatto nel teatro congiunto al palazzo del Sereniss. Gran Duca, per le reali nozze de' Serenissimi Principi Cosimo terzo di Toscana e Margherita Luisa d'Orleans', Florence 1661. Getekende voorstudie wordt bewaard in de Galleria degli Uffizi te Florence (inv. nr. 5944 S).
