Op de voorgrond vat Hercules de riviergod Acheloüs in de gedaante van een stier bij de horens. Links is Hercules in gevecht met de riviergod in de gedaante van een mens en rechts in de gedaante van een slang. Op de achtergrond vullen enkele nimfen de hoorn des overvloeds.
