A reading figure bent over an open book was a favourite subject of the well-read Loeber. Texts by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Albert Gleizes had opened up a world of possibilities for her. That she also designed bookmarkers with this motif suggests that she promoted private study. In addition, educating the working man was an important socialist ideal.
