‘Cantilevered chairs’, that is without back legs, made of steel tubes were a new development in furniture design in the 1920s. Jan den Drijver drew two such chairs. They strongly resemble Gispen’s furniture, such as Armchair No. 304 elsewhere in this gallery. Den Drijver used soft colours compatible with the rounded forms of these comfortable chairs.
